Now that you have decided to undergo cosmetic surgery to correct that flaw on your nose, you have to choose the right cosmetic surgeon for the job. With your nose being the center of attraction on your face, you have to ensure you get the right surgeon to do your nose job for you.

The following are tips on how to choose the right surgeon for your nose job

    • rdftgZhMake sure that the surgeon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery by checking their website or calling them toll-free.
    • The surgeon should have and use a valid surgeon’s medical license. There are some sites on the internet that assemble medical license verification information from all fifty US states to help you here.
    • Most state websites have information on any disciplinary action taken by the cosmetic surgeon for malpractice judgments. If your state does not provide this information on its website, the clerks of courts where the doctor practices will be able to provide you with this information. Be careful of doctors with three malpractice judgments within a span of 5 to 10 years’ time.
    • You never know when things may go wrong during the nose job; so make sure your surgeon has current malpractice insurance coverage and hospital privileges in case you have to be admitted for hospital care.
    • Find out more about the surgeon’s training and education. You can either ask the surgeon personally or get it from the board.
    • Ask how many times the surgeon has performed nurse surgery, and his or her complication rates. Be careful of doctors who claim of never making complications during a nose job.

  • Always ask for references, and take a look at some before and after photos of nose jobs. If possible, talk to patients who have had a nose job done by the cosmetic surgeon. Even ask your family doctor about their opinion on the cosmetic surgeon.
